Cleanwater Central Tour
Welcome to the online tour of Cleanwater Central.
Cleanwater Central has been designed as an online, centralized database tool
for wastewater treatment agency managers, researchers, and others to locate or analyze
real-time information on publicly-owned wastewater treatment facilities.
This tour provides highlights of the system’s features and capabilities.

Subscribers to Cleanwater Central have access to the database’s four main sections including:
Centralized Database of Public Agencies and Treatment Facilities
The database currently contains a listing of over 480 public
utilities, and nearly 700 wastewater treatment facilities. These agencies represent a
population of over 150 million persons served by centralized wastewater treatment.
Survey Data Collection and Warehousing Tool
For those public agencies that participate in industry surveys sponsored
by NACWA or WERF, Cleanwater Central provides utilities with an easy way to submit responses
online and access responses to previous surveys dating back to 1985
Public Agency Data Reporting and Analysis Tool
Using a simple step-by-step query subscribers can search or analyze utility
data by utility size, geographic location, or services provided. Data can be summarized in
simple statistics or customized graphs.
Online Research Data Resource Tool
A listing of both published and unpublished research can be found as part of Cleanwater
Central. Abstracts can be searched by keyword, author, title, sponsor, year, or category. Also, new abstracts
can be submitted for inclusion into WERF's research library.
